Lazarus

from The Net by Mark Laurent

/

about

I was listening to the story of Lazarus (John 11) on a cassette while doing the dishes & this little number popped into my head.

lyrics

Lazarus

I am the resurrection
and I am the life
If you believe in me
you will never die
I am the resurrection and I
roll away your stone

Jesus wept, jesus wept
come and see how Jesus wept
see how he loved him, how Jesus wept
when they rolled away the stone

And he cried, “come out Lazarus!“
Now we’ve rolled away your stone

Let him loose, let him go
Take off those grave clothes
and let them go
Let him loose, let him go
Now we’ve rolled away his stone.

And we cry, “Come out Lazarus!
Come out Lazarus!“
Now we’ve rolled away his stone.
