The Net

from The Net by Mark Laurent

about

The last chapter of the last gospel tells the story of a close encounter between Jesus & his friends by a lakeside in the early morning (John chapter 21 if you want to read it).

lyrics

THE NET

Put the net out on the other side
See what you get

I know you’ve been out trying all night long
With really not too much to show
But sometimes we just have to go again
Take it from somebody who knows

You put new wine into new bottles
But old wine tastes better, so they say
Both are good, both are nice
One adds sweetness and the other spice
Both are rich, both are true
A little bit of either could be good for you

Yes we all have wounds, yes we al have scars
They’re there to teach us who we really are
Yes we all have regrets, and yes we all feel pain
That’s the reason we should try again

There’s something out there for you
it’s better than you knew.
